I can sum up what I have learned so far in terms of:
Skills:
Some of the skills I have learned this quarter have been how to crate movement with lines, which I had never really done before, as well as figuring out color schemes- on my lettering piece. I also used the skill of perspective when I made my object up close piece.
Art Elements:
The art elements I have learned and used this quarter have been contrast, the use of negative space, shading, texture, and movement. I used contrast in my Line Movement drawing, as well as in my charcoal drawing of an object up close. I used the balance between negative and positive space in all of my pieces, but especially in my lettering designs. I used shading in my object up close piece. I used texture in my set design picture. I used the illusion of movement in my Lines Creating Movement piece.
Creative Ideas:
I have found that lettering is what I really enjoy doing. I have become more aware of how the use of space effects the outcome of a piece. I found it interesting how color pairing can really change the look of a piece and improve what it looks like. I discovered this with my second lettering piece. When I started to color it, I didn't like how it was turning out so I started over and I was amazed at how changing the color of a few aspects of the piece completely changed and improved it's look.
What kind of effort did I put into class?
I put a lot of effort into this class because art is something I love and want to continue with in the future. I try as hard as I can to create quality pieces of art and always stay focused on my work.
What can I focus on next quarter to learn more?
I can focus on increasing the skills I have learned this quarter so that my skills can improve even more. I want to focus on getting the right balance between positive and negative space as well as improving my ability to create contrast.
